CT uses advanced X-ray technology to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. The exam is usually quick and may be performed with or without contrast, depending on your physician’s order.

Digital X-ray is a fast and convenient way to evaluate bones, joints, the chest, and other areas. Images are available electronically for efficient review by our radiologists and your referring physician.

Ultrasound uses sound waves—not radiation—to create real-time images of organs, soft tissues, and blood flow. Our technologists guide you through a comfortable, noninvasive examination.

DEXA is a quick, low-dose examination that measures bone density and helps your physician assess osteoporosis and fracture risk. The scan is comfortable, noninvasive, and requires no enclosed scanner.

MRI and contrast safety must be reviewed by our staff. Do not self-medicate. Call the office before your exam if you have an implant, pacemaker, metal in your body, asthma, allergies, diabetes, kidney problems, or a prior contrast reaction.
Please inform us if you have surgical vascular clips, neurostimulators, cochlear implants, a breast tissue expander, an IVC filter, penile implants, or silver-backed dermal patches. Do not wear eye makeup. Music is available during the examination. Patients with pacemakers, cerebral aneurysm clips, or ferromagnetic implants must contact us before the appointment. Our facility cannot perform the MRI unless the exact device has been reviewed and explicitly cleared under our MRI safety policy.
The examination must be scheduled between the 7th and 14th day after the start of the menstrual cycle, unless your physician or our office gives you different instructions.
Nothing to eat or drink for 8 hours before the exam except water. You must pick up the barium bottles from our office before the day of the exam. Drink one bottle before bedtime and one-half bottle one hour before the exam, unless our staff gives you different instructions.

Thirty minutes before the examination, drink four large glasses of water. Do not empty your bladder; a full bladder is required.
Do not use powder, deodorant, lotion, or perfume on the underarms or breast area on the day of the examination. Bring previous mammogram films or images and reports.
Do not take calcium pills, vitamins containing calcium, or dairy products on the day of the examination. Do not have a nuclear medicine study or contrast study on the day before the examination.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Please do not bring valuables. Bring all related results and copies of prior studies. If you have asthma or allergies, contact our office before the exam for prescribed premedication instructions—do not self-medicate. If you have diabetes and may need contrast, alert our office when making your appointment.

Jersey Advanced MRI participates with most insurance plans. Some health plans require pre-certification and/or a referral form. We can help you verify insurance coverage before your study.
All paperwork required by your health plan must be completed before a radiological examination can be performed. Please check with your insurance provider for details specific to your plan.
If insurance coverage is denied, we will work with you to establish an alternate payment arrangement. Please contact our office if you need clarification or assistance.
